About Elsa Zarduz

Hello I'm Elsa, welcome to my website. I was born in the city of Parral in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico in 1969. I have a bachelor Degree in Graphical Communication at the Escuela National de Artes Plasticas, UNAM in Mexico City, 1991.

I took courses for anatomical and gesture drawing, photography, illustration, as well as, techniques and media type, from 1991 through 1992. 

In 1992 my Governmental Social Service Practicuum was done at the Anthropology National Museum of Mexico. Where I created special designs geared to children, to introduce the entire museum. This was exhibited on Reforma Avenue, a large venue where the museum is located. Among these designs is a painting "Carabela" depicting Christopher Columbus' arrival in America. 

From1988 -1994 I designed activities for broadcast Television in which I was the producer, assistant director, and coordinator of special projects like "A Christmas Special for Elmo" for CTW and Sesame Street of New York. 

In 1994 I participated in Children's Illustration books workshop with Richard Rosenblum, and figurative oil painting with Andrew Coolking at Parson's School of design in New York. 

Also in 1994 I studied sculpture with Rhoda Sherbell, painting from life with Phillip Sherrod at the art student league in New York. 

In 1995 I studied in the Institute Allende in Guanajuato oil painting and sculpture, as well I studied oil painting with Eduardo Pizarro in San Angel in Mexico city. 

In 1996 I studied Muralism in the art cultural center in the city of Querétaro with the architect Margarita Magdaleno. At this time I also studied restoration of old books in the museum of Juan Pablos in Mexico City. 

I participated in a collective exhibition in the City of Mexico in the shopping center Santa Fe in 1996 

In 1998 I participated in the conference about muralism with Jorge Juanes at the National University of fine arts in the city of Queretaro. 

In 1999 I studied pictorial techniques and materials for oils with Regina Trespalacios. 

From 1999 to 2000, I attended a drawing and figurative oil painting,, art critique, and art history workshop with Santiago Carbonell. 

I taught classes in illustrations, art history and drawing to secondary and preparatory primary schools from 1996 through 2001 I participated in a collective exhibition in the City of Mexico at the exhibition hall of the Hospital Century XXI in 2001. 

I have participated in several aids in the city of Guanajuato in the Biennal of drawing of Siqueiros, in the electoral Federal Institute of the city of Mexico "Painting by the Democracia". in the Spain weak in the city of Querétaro, and recently in the Biennial of Alfredo Zalce in the city of Morelia Mich.
